Boarding in Style

Two Swedish-built FMT state-of-the-art switch-back Mobile Elevating Gangways have been installed by Port Everglades at the newly-enlarged Terminal 18. The massive terminal will be the home to both of Royal Caribbean International's Oasis-class vessels. It is the largest cruise terminal in the world built for a single ship operation.
In this aerial photo of Terminal 18 from dockside, the FMT gangways can be seen at the center, while a conventional gangway is at the left for the use of smaller vessels which may utilize the terminal during the week. The FMT gangways were chosen, among many other reasons, for their ability to reach the unusually high doors on the Oasis-class vessels.
