Technical Launch of Costa Deliziosa

The 92,700-ton Costa Deliziosa was floated out at Fincantieri's Marghera yard yesterday. It is shown here in the drydock just before it was flooded with water to float the vessel. The ship is scheduled to be delivered to Carnival Corp at the end of January 2010, making it the third ship built for Costa within a year. Also moving toward completion is Costa Luminosa, which will be delivered at the end of April 2009, and is shown in the background. The third ship in the trio, Costa Pacifica, will be delivered at the end of May 2009.
The ship's godmother, through this step of its life, Tanja Vianello, a Fincantieri employee, is shown with Gianni Onorato, President of Costa Crociere (right) and Attilio Dapelo (left), the director of Fincantieri's Marghera shipyard.
